Literal meaning:

Self and others, respect.


Natural interpretation:

Respect yourself, and respect others.





This phrase is commonly used in Okinawan and Japanese martial arts contexts. It expresses an ethical foundation rather than a technique: cultivation of dignity, humility, and mutual respect.
